2026 PARSEC–CAPA
Call for E-Poster Submissions

CAPA and PARSEC are pleased to invite Physician Assistants, PA students, and researchers to submit abstracts for the 2026 PARSEC–CAPA E-Poster Program.

This program provides an opportunity to showcase research, clinical work, education initiatives, and health systems projects with the Canadian PA community.

All accepted posters will be displayed at the 2026 CAPA Conference and published on the PARSEC website. PARSEC Members will also have the opportunity to participate in the PARSEC Readers' Choice Award.

Following review, the top 2–3 abstracts in each category will be invited to participate in a moderated poster presentation session at the CAPA Conference.

Submission Categories

1. Clinical Research & Case Reports
Includes clinical research, case reports, and case series.

2. PA Education & Health Systems Research
Includes, but is not limited to:

  • PA education
  • PA workforce research
  • Quality improvement
  • Implementation research
  • Health systems research
  • Systems innovation
  • Workforce outcomes

Eligibility & Submission Criteria

Abstracts must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Include at least one Physician Assistant or PA student author; or
  • Be directly related to PA education, the PA workforce, or PA workforce outcomes.

Additional submission policies:

  • Multiple submissions from the same research group are welcome; however, each abstract must represent a distinct research question and present unique results.
  • Posters accepted for the moderated poster presentations must be presented by one of the listed authors. Presenter substitutions will not be permitted.
  • Research involving human participants, patient data, or biological samples must have received approval from the submitting institution's Research Ethics Board (REB) or equivalent ethics committee, where applicable. Investigators are discouraged from submitting work that has been previously presented at another national or international conference.
  • Case reports and case series are welcome.
  • International submissions will be considered; however, due to presentation capacity, preference will be given to Canadian submissions.
  • All accepted posters will be displayed during the CAPA Conference. Following review, the highest-scoring posters in each category will be invited to participate in the moderated poster presentation session. Presenters will be notified by October 5.
  • Abstracts will be published exactly as submitted. Authors are responsible for ensuring their submission is free of spelling and typographical errors, as no copy editing will be performed.

  • Single-page PDF
  • 16:9 landscape format
  • Maximum file size: 10 MB
  • Recommended dimensions: 13.333 × 7.5 inches

Authors are responsible for ensuring that all poster content is accurate and free of spelling or typographical errors. No copy editing will be performed.

Posters accepted for the moderated poster presentation session must be presented by one of the listed authors. Presenter substitutions will not be permitted.

Important Dates

Abstract Submission Deadline: September 14, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. EDT

Review Period:  September 14 – October 4, 2026

Top Abstracts Notified: October 5, 2026

The top 2–3 abstracts in each category will be invited to participate in the moderated poster presentation session.

PARSEC Readers' Choice Award
All accepted posters will be posted on the PARSEC website beginning October 5, 2026, allowing members to view the posters and participate in the Readers' Choice Award.
