Nusrat is an advocate for PA profession in Canada. She completed a Bachelor of Science PA Degree program from University of Toronto. With her new identity as a clinician, Nusrat now works as a PA at St. Hilda’s Towers Downtown Toronto, working in geriatrics proving care to seniors. She contributes to OCP (Optimized Care Program) at St. Hilda’s and Transition Care Program (TCP) at UHN. She also works part-time at a family practice in Richmond Hill proving healthcare to a wide demographic population and spends time educating patients and families on preventative care.

Nusrat has put in more than five hundred hours volunteering for medical professionals. From this she received special recognition from the Honourable Kathleen Wynn, Premier of Ontario for her volunteer services in 2015. Nusrat continues to mentor and coach a group of forty internationally trained doctors at Thorncliffe Neighbourhood Office (TNO), helping them to prepare for medical license and MMI for PA Programs at U of T and McMaster University. Nusrat was nominated for the Character Community Award in the York Region in 2014.

Representing Canadian Association of Physician Assistants as National Vice-President, Nusrat would take advocacy to the next level and focus on promoting & integrating more Physician Assistants into the healthcare system across Canada. She feels it is very important to educate stakeholders on the value that PAs can provide in decrease wait times and reducing health workforce shortages while decreasing costs of providing quality healthcare.  Nusrat will act as an ambassador for new Canadians and help them to adopt the PA career and to contribute to this profession by providing care to our communities in Canada.
