
Karen was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and grew up in Southern Alberta in a border town where she received an American education. She joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 2000 as a Medical Technician. Karen has had multiple postings across Canada, which provided her with strong knowledge of different roles within the Canadian Forces Health Services. She is now currently posted to Shilo, Manitoba as the Clinic Warrant Officer where she promotes and facilitates day to day operations and oversees medical care in a multidisciplinary setting. Karen’s operational experience includes a posting in Afghanistan and a tour to the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center where she worked in conjunction with the American Military Health Care Providers in evacuating all injured and ill Canadian soldiers from Afghanistan.
Karen graduated from the CAF PA program in 2015. Since then she has been working in a primary care and occupational environment where she is enthusiastic, energetic. Karen is always promoting PAs within the military environment as well as the civilian side. Karen is looking forward to the future of the profession and future opportunities for growth in Canada.
