The Opportunity:
Under the delegation of a Supervising Physician, the role of the Physician Assistant (PA) will be to help coordinate, provide, and evaluate care of patients registered in the CGMH Emergency Department.

Primary responsibilities involve assessing and managing medium to high acuity complex patients that may require admission as well as low acuity patients. The Physician Assistant is expected to work reasonably independently with good clinical intuition however, will review each case with the staff physician. Staff physician involvement in each patient case will vary depending on the complexity of the patient the Physician Assistant is expected to work with the pace and clinical acumen that contributes both to ED efficiency and excellent care for each patient. Leads Emergency Department physician education in Meditech Expanse and undertakes improvement initiatives related to workflow processes.

The Physician Assistant will be a lead care provider for our innovative ED Fast Track and will complete daily ED call backs to ensure that abnormal lab and imaging findings are followed up accordingly.
