Physician Assistant Receives the Order of Military Merit Award!

The Canadian Association of Physician Assistants (CAPA) would like to congratulate Mark McLennan, Vice-President, CAPA Board of Directors and long-time member for being selected as a recipient of the Order of Military Merit Award.

Mark was selected to receive this prestigious award for his national service in the Canadian Armed Forces. Founded on July 1, 1972, the Order of Military Merit recognizes distinctive merit and exceptional service displayed by the men and women of the Canadian Armed Forces, both Regular and Reserve. Many have demonstrated dedication and devotion beyond the call of duty, and the Order honours them for their commitment to Canada. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is the Order’s Sovereign, the Governor General is its Chancellor and a Commander, while the Chief of the Defence Staff is its Principal Commander.

CAPA is exceptionally proud of Mark’s achievements both in and outside the military. He is a dedicated PA within the Armed Forces, and a strong advocate in CAPA to improving the well-being of PAs and improving health care. On March 6, 2017 Mark accepted this award from The Governor General of Canada, His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston and The Commander of the RCN, Vice-Admiral, M.F.R. LLoyd, CMM, CD during an official ceremony in Ottawa.

Please join us in recognizing Mark for his outstanding achievement.
