2026 Cavernous Malformation Clinical and Scientific Symposium

Hosted by the driven team at Cavernous Malformation Canada (CMC) and their Clinical and Scientific Advisory Board, the 2026 Cavernous Malformation Clinical and Scientific Symposium will be informative not only for the experienced but also those early in their understanding of this disease.

Cavernous malformaton (CM) is an abnormal cluster of blood cells with thin leaky walls.  They most often are found in the brain and/spinal cord.  There is no cure and limited treatment options for patients with this rare disease.  Symptomatic patients experience varying symptoms including seizures, focal neurological deficits, brain and/or spinal cord injury and intracerebral hemorrhage.  Some patients may have one CM, others may have multiple, and for some, more will continue to form over time. 

At this event, we intend to create a tradition of connecting clinicians, scientists, nurses, allied health professionals, and other key brilliant minds, in a uniquely Canadian forum. Together we connect, discover and debate the latest basic and clinical science, the most challenging aspects of clinical care, and symptom management strategies. We formulate the road ahead and build future collaborations with topics delivered by some of the best experts in this rare disease.
