The following presentation is fast paced, cased based, and highly engaging presentation that reviews management of laboratory medicine emergencies including hyponatremia, hyperkalemia, hypercalcemia, and tumor lysis syndrome. Lecture is case based and relies heavily on audience response/polling to drive home key concepts. After attending this presentation participants will be much more confident managing laboratory emergencies.

Andy Herber works as a Physician Assistant in Hospital Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN for the past 20 years. He is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Mayo College of Medicine, Instructor in Medical Education, and an Associate in the Division of Hospital Medicine. In addition to seeing patients, Andy serves as the NPPA Education Chair for Mayo Clinic. He is a course director for two NPPA specific Hospital Medicine CME courses as well as a NPPA Leadership and Professional Development course.
