Pre-Conference Workshop: Case Studies in Emergent and Screening ECGs

Presented by Dr. Nick J Withers,CD, MD, CCFP(EM), FCFP.

This practical sessions will assist those who do not regularly read ECGs develop a quick, systematic approach to reviewing ECGs. Dr. Withers will bring even the novice reader to a level of comfort while challenging more experienced practitioners with interesting cases and those abnormalities that you must not overlook. For those interested in the minutia of ECGs, this session is not for you. Calipers are to be checked at the door!

At the conclusion of this session, the participant will be able to:
• Develop a systematic and rapid approach to the interpretation of ECGs.
• Identify common arrhythmias encountered in acute care practice.
• Identify lethal ECG abnormalities encountered in acute care practice.
• Recognize lethal conditions from screening/periodic health examination ECGs.

Disclaimer: This workshop does not provide a qualification / certification to perform the skills reviewed within the workshop. Those participating wishing to further their skills are recommended to take a recognized training program.

This workshop takes place on Saturday, October 24, 2015. Maximum capacity is 40 people. This workshop is also available on Thursday, October 22, 2015 with a maximum capacity of 60 people. Registrations are not transferable to another workshop. Be sure to indicate your date preference upon registering.

***Cancellations will only be accepted in writing.  There will be a $50.00 administrative charge for all cancellations.  No refunds will be issued for cancellations requested after September 30th.  Please make your requests for refunds in writing to the National Office by email (admin@capa-acam.ca) or fax (613-521-2226). CAPA reserves the right to cancel a workshop and refund all monies paid, due to insufficient registrations.

CAPA will take photographs and some video at the CAPA 2015 Annual Conference and utilize them in CAPA news or promotional material whether in print, electronic, or other media, including the CAPA website. By participating in CAPA 2015, you grant CAPA the right to use your name and photograph for such purposes.
