The Ottawa Citizen – The Ottawa Hospital is attracting criticism from the group representing Ontario nurses over its hiring of two recently graduated physician assistants to work with orthopedic surgeons.
The nurses’ association complains that the assistants, who graduated from a two-year program at McMaster University, are not adequately trained to replace nurses, especially nurse-practitioners.
